I’m a voter living in your constituency and I will be attending the Climate Lobby day in Buswells Hotel on the 3rd of December, hosted by the Stop Climate Chaos coalition. This is a special event where constituents will be meeting their TDs to talk about the need for strong climate action from Government. I am getting in touch with you today as I would like to arrange a time for us to meet in Buswells during this event.

I would like to discuss the importance of Government taking action at local and national level to support climate action, prevent reliance on fossil fuels and support the health and wellbeing of communities. I am concerned that the same factors that are driving pollution are also undermining our health and wellbeing and impacting already vulnerable and marginalised communities the most.

The Government needs to take action now to ensure a fair, fast and sustainable fossil free transition. As my representative in the Dáil, I want you to ensure Ireland is a climate leader and not a laggard.

The Government needs to lead and transform our energy, transport, building and food systems in the next decade, starting immediately. If Government fails to act urgently the bill facing taxpayers could be as much as €26 billion. It makes no sense to waste billions buying carbon credits overseas in a few years time, instead of accelerating climate action in my local area.
