Our Movement Building Circle has been working with an amazing global citizenship education consultant, Sian Cowman, to design and develop a high quality, peer-reviewed facilitators and learners’ handbook on Climate Change, Extractivism and Colonialism. This handbook aims to provide a framework for collaborative learning and unlearning on issues like colonisation, colonialism and racialisation - and how they are linked to climate and environmental justice.A racial and economic justice organisation called Decolonising Economics is peer-reviewing this handbook for us. Read more about the handbook and download a copy for yourself by visiting our website hereClimate Change, Extractivism and Colonialism - Facilitators and Learners Handbook

We have also launched a pilot four-week online participatory evening course, based on the four key learning modules in the handbook, namely historical colonisation, modern-day colonisation, extractivism and colonialism and solidarity and justice. The course is envisioned as a “training for trainers” for climate and ecological activists who are interested in engaging the groups or communities they work with. We’ll also be running a face-to-face training retreat on this issue later in 2022 - keep an eye out on the events section of our new website for more details which will be launched shortly!
