Join us for a lunch-time walking tour around Naas to take a closer look at what continued data centres expansion means for our towns, our ecosystems, and our wallets.

We will explore the power and politics behind the Irish Government’s approach to data centres; why they have been allowed to expand without limits, what risks they pose to our climate and environment, and what we can do about it.

While the majority of data centres in Ireland are focused around Dublin, did you know that increasingly data centre developers are setting their sights on the Naas and Midlands area? Projected to house some of the largest data centres in the State, areas like Rochfortbridge in Westmeath and Jigginstown in Naas are set to see massive data centre projects, which will place huge strains on the local grid, lock us into fossil fuels and come with dubious promises of clean energy despite being built by gas plant tycoons.

Register your interest in the walking tour on Saturday 16th August here.

We will be in touch very soon with full details including meeting point and exact times.

Note: The tour is free and will last approximately 2 hours. It will be mostly on foot so please prepare for walking.
