National Climate Demonstration

Cost of living pressures are pushing so many of us to the brink. Many people will be forced to choose between heating and eating this winter. Many live in cold homes prone to damp and mould, putting people at health risk in their own homes. It really shouldn’t be this hard to live.

A major root cause of this is the Government’s failure to end Ireland’s dependence on dirty, expensive fossil fuels. This means our energy bills are tied to volatile global oil and gas markets and will be affected by every instance of price shock. And now, instead of doing everything possible to end our dependence on fossil fuels, the Government is paving the way for a new polluting gas terminal in Clare instead.

On November 14th, at the National Climate Demo organised by Stop Climate Chaos, we have an opportunity to challenge this together. We know the only thing the Government pays attention to more than big business is people power. We’re calling on the Government to get Ireland off fossil fuels, which means warmer homes, lower bills, better public transport - and a healthier, fairer world at large. We’re demanding climate justice so that all of us can afford to live and be free from the polluting shackles of fossil fuel companies.

Join us on the streets to end fossil power!

November 14th is also the Global Day of Climate Action where people from across the world will be taking to the streets to demand climate justice and systems change against the backdrop of COP31 in Turkey.

Together, we can make November 14th a day where people-power trumps fossil power. Together, let’s build an unstoppable climate justice movement.
